Sydney, New South Wales, Australia Glitch Productions Full time $60,000 - $80,000 per year

About us:

Glitch Productions is an independent animation studio based in Australia making original, long form animated shows distributed on Youtube. Our channel has over 13 million subscribers, tens of millions of views per episode and is still growing strong. Our studio is filled with incredibly talented and passionate artists that are determined to change the way animation is produced and treated in the industry. Our latest IP; Digital Circus, has amassed over 350 million views on the pilot alone and we have a lot more still to come.

Role Information:

Glitch Productions is looking for a highly organised and passionate Social Media & Marketing Specialist to oversee, own and expand the company's growing community and social media presence. In this role, you will be working closely with the executive, marketing, memberships, and production teams to deliver entertaining and trend-driven social media content, and cultivation of our dedicated fanbase.

This role will involve working for Glitch Productions' brands, which in turn involves our animated series like Murder Drones and The Amazing Digital Circus. Your passion for indie animation and internet culture will be the key that shines through and acts as the connection between the company and our viewers, and upholds the brand and vision of the company.

Your duties will include:

  • Own our social voice across platforms like Twitter/X, TikTok, YouTube (Shorts & Community), Instagram, Reddit, Discord, and LinkedIn. This includes:
    • Content ideation, creation, copywriting, scheduling, and posting.
    • Writing in a tone that's always on-brand, whether that's Glitch as a whole or a specific IP like Digital Circus or Murder Drones.
    • Optimising every post for the platform it's on, balancing performance with personality.
  • Live the brand. Build a deep understanding of Glitch's shows and characters so you can speak with authenticity and voice across everything we do.
  • Be timezone-savvy. You'll be posting and scheduling during non-Australian hours (particularly US peak times), including occasional weekends.
  • Copywriting that weaves in CTAs and promotional beats in ways that is native to the platform, brand and community.
  • Actively respond to the community, moderate discussions, and spotlight user-generated content.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including executives, brand managers, series creators, and department leads to ensure overall alignment with brand and campaign objectives.
  • Build and present clear analytics reports on post/campaign performance and use insights to continuously improve content and platform strategies.
  • Propose & improve processes. Constantly look for better ways to manage, schedule, and optimize content workflows.
  • Jump in wherever needed. From product blurbs to PR releases, you'll be writing across multiple formats as needed.

A successful candidate will have:

  • 3 years in a social media or community manager role (entertainment, animation, or fan-driven industries a plus).
  • Proven experience growing online fan communities and handling the nuts and bolts: scheduling, analytics, copywriting, and community management.
  • A deep understanding of what makes content feel real vs corporate and the instincts to keep us on the right side.
  • Strong sense for social trends and what resonates (or flops) with fans—and a drive to iterate based on data.
  • Sharp eye for moments of opportunity to engage organically.
  • Fluent in the culture and mechanics of Twitter/X, TikTok, Reddit, YouTube, Instagram, Linkedin, Discord and whatever's next.
  • Culturally dialed in to Gen Z and Millennial internet spaces, with a love for memes, fandoms, and weird internet humor.
  • Top-tier copywriting and communication skills with an innate ability for tone matching.
  • Organised, proactive, and able to manage deadlines across multiple shows and projects.
  • Experience with tools like Figma, Hootsuite, Asana, Buffer, or similar.
  • A genuine passion for Glitch, animation, gaming, anime, and digital storytelling.

Bonus Skills:

  • Experience with Adobe Suite, particularly Photoshop and Premiere or similar editing software.
  • Existing familiarity with Glitch Productions and/or SMG4's fanbase and content.
  • Experience in organising live events and conventions, whether in-person or digital..
  • Experience running a livestream, including usage of streaming software like OBS.
  • An understanding and/or experience with Influencers/Content Creator coordination.
  • Ability to create 2D drawings/concepts/animations for social media use and/or to convey concepted ideas.

What we offer:

  • A competitive starting salary with reviews every 6 months.
  • A flexible work arrangement and schedule, with options for work from home and flexi-hours.
  • A casual and fun office environment where individual input is valued.
  • Regular work functions and free entry to conventions and events.
  • Close to public transport in the heart of Parramatta CBD.
  • Paid for gym memberships.
  • Regular company breakfasts/lunches.
  • A diverse team that values independent input and career development.
