Our Opportunity
As the Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in community outreach and stakeholder engagement regarding EWON's role in managing complaints about renewable energy infrastructure (REI) projects in NSW. You will coordinate and attend community outreach events in regional NSW, collaborate closely with stakeholders, develop engagement strategies, and support the establishment of advisory groups.

Key Accountabilities
- Work with the Head of ET to develop a Stakeholder Engagement Plan that identifies key stakeholders and interest groups.
- Evaluate and report on engagement activities against the Stakeholder Engagement Plan to the Head of ET, Board, and others as required.
- Actively build and maintain networks of relevant stakeholders, ensuring contact information is recorded and updated.
- Organise and attend engagement activities to increase community awareness of EWON's REI complaint's role, including outreach sessions, information stands, forums, community meetings and similar (approximately two regional trips per month, with overnight stays of 1-3 nights, and often on weekends).
- Engage with potential new REI members including setting up meetings with the Ombudsman and/or Head of ET.
- Provide secretariat support for a new REI Advisory Group (to meet quarterly) to inform EWON's roll-out of the new REI function.
- Shares knowledge obtained through stakeholder engagement and activities with both the ET team and other EWON staff where relevant.
Required Skills and Experience
- Strong track record in building, growing and maintaining networks with a range of stakeholders to expand reach and maximise engagement outcomes.
- Experience planning and coordinating events, including the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.
- Self-starter, with initiative, adaptability and high level of resilience.
- Ability to understand, communicate with, and effectively interact with people across cultures and backgrounds.
- Must be able to travel regularly (approximately 2 trips per month), including overnight stays of 1-3 nights, and be available to work weekends.
