Are you passionate about building partnerships, driving educational innovation, and making a real impact in the geosciences and mining sector? The Geological Survey of NSW (part of NSW Resources) is seeking a dynamic and motivated Engagement Officer to join our team and help shape the future of the industry in New South Wales.

About the Role

As the Engagement Officer, you will play a pivotal role in addressing industry skills shortages by:

  • Fostering strong relationships across mining, geosciences, education, and vocational training sectors.
  • Developing and delivering innovative educational programs for schools, universities, and vocational training providers.
  • Promoting the W B Clarke Geoscience Centre as a centre of excellence for research, technology, and collaborative education.
  • Leading projects and initiatives that bridge skills gaps and attract new talent to the sector.
  • Representing NSW Resources at industry, educational, and community events, making geoscience accessible and engaging for all.

What We're Looking For

To be successful in this role you'll need to have a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, Diploma of Education, or equivalent, as well as a current Class C drivers' licence.

You'll also need:

  • Demonstrated expertise in building collaborative networks with industry and educational stakeholders.
  • Experience in developing and delivering high-quality educational and training programs.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
  • Both a current first aid certificate and a current NSW Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain as a condition of employment).
