Café Cornucopia in Balmain East is seeking a creative Pakistani Fusion Chef to design and deliver an original, high-end menu that blends authentic Pakistani flavours with modern Australian café dining.
This is a unique opportunity to put your own stamp on a growing café brand and showcase refined dishes that are both simple and memorable.
About the Role
You will lead the creation of an elegant Pakistani fusion menu, curating dishes that feel at home in a premium café environment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and preparing an original brunch and lunch menu with fusion influences
- Balancing authentic spices with modern presentation
- Creating seasonal specials that highlight fresh, local produce
- Developing a small but standout selection of sweet items with South Asian flair
Example dishes could include:
- Chai-Spiced French Toast with cardamom cream and pistachio dust
- Aloo & Herb Frittata with yoghurt drizzle and sourdough
- Tandoori Chicken Salad with charred vegetables and mint dressing
- Slow-Cooked Keema on Toasted Sourdough with a soft egg
- Rose & Pistachio Madeleines or Cardamom Chocolate Tart as signature sweets
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a chef with strong knowledge of Pakistani cuisine
- Flair for creating refined, café-appropriate dishes
- Creativity in menu development with an emphasis on simplicity and elegance
- Ability to work independently and execute consistently
- Passion for introducing new flavours to Sydney's café scene
