From everyday indulgences to special celebrations, our menu is crafted to delight and inspire. We are seeking a dedicated Senior Chef to join our team and contribute to our culinary journey.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and execute high-quality French-inspired dishes in accordance with Hemingway's culinary standards and specifications.
  • Collaborate with the culinary team to develop innovative and seasonally inspired menus that showcase the best of French and Australian cuisine.
  • Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards at all times, maintaining a clean and organised kitchen environment.
  • Manage inventory levels and assist in the ordering of supplies to support menu offerings and operational needs.
  • Train and mentor kitchen staff, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor kitchen operations during service, overseeing food preparation, presentation, and quality to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, techniques, and ingredients, incorporating new ideas and flavors into Hemingway's culinary offerings.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a high-paced restaurant environment, with a strong emphasis on French cuisine.
  • Qualification in commercial cookery or equivalent culinary certification.
  • Passion for food and dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences.
  • Strong technical skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
