**About Kid Kyoto**

Kid Kyoto is not your average Japanese restaurant. Located in the heart of the CBD, we're known for our unique fusion of Japanese-inspired flavours with a fun, rock-and-roll attitude. We pride ourselves on a dynamic, fast-paced, and collaborative kitchen where creativity and passion are celebrated.

We are seeking a talented and reliable Casual Chef to join our energetic team. If you're passionate about great food, have a can-do attitude, and thrive in a high-energy environment, we want to hear from you.

The Role

This is a casual position with flexible hours, including nights and weekends. You will work closely with our Head Chef and senior team members to deliver an unforgettable dining experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with daily food preparation and mise en place.
  • Working on various stations (hot, cold, and grill) as required.
  • Ensuring all dishes are prepared and presented to Kid Kyoto's high standards.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
  • Adhering to all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Contributing to a positive and supportive kitchen culture.

Skills & Experience

  • Minimum 1 year as a chef in a quality restaurant environment.
  • Strong knife skills and foundational cooking knowledge.
  • A solid understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain attention to detail.
  • A positive attitude, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Experience with Japanese cuisine is a bonus but not essential.
