About the role: Independent Living Program - Mental Health Recovery Support (Busselton)
Lamp Inc. is currently seeking passionate, skilled, and experienced mental health support workers, to work in Busselton. Providing supports to individuals with a primary Mental Health diagnosis, the successful candidate will be able to work within a recovery orientated framework to build capacity, including tasks such as:
- Collaborate with participants to develop personalised recovery plans that align with their goals and preferences.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of recovery plans based on participants' progress and changing needs.
- Assist participants in developing skills for managing their mental health, such as coping strategies, self-care routines, and medication management.
- Empower participants to make informed decisions about their care and recovery process.
- Build and maintain relationships with community organisations and service providers to enhance support networks for participants.
- Support participants in developing vocational skills and pursuing employment or educational opportunities.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of participants interactions, progress, and any incidents.
- Provide culturally sensitive support that respects the diverse backgrounds and experiences of participants.
Selection Criteria
The suitable candidate must be able to demonstrate or demonstrate how they're working toward the below.
Essential:
- A minimum of cert IV in Mental Health, or other equivalent Mental Health qualification, or demonstration of working towards
- Experience in case/support planning
- Excellent time management and organisation skills
- Demonstrated experience in the use of risk assessments.
- A demonstrated understanding of boundaries (personal and professional)
- A demonstrated understanding of self-care
- A strong understanding of recovery orientated practice
- A strong understanding of trauma informed practice
Desirable:
- Mental Health First Aid
- Senior First Aid
- Previous experience in working within a multi-disciplinary, multi-agency approach.
- Lived experience with mental health challenges or supporting someone with a mental health challenge.
You must have full working rights within Australia and possess/be willing to obtain before commencement:
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance ($145)
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- Driver's License

Please note that we're only seeking applications from individuals who reside in the Busselton region. The position is based on 3 days (21 hours) per week, from 9 am to 4:30 pm.
