What You'll Do

As a Youth Employment Mentorin the Transition to Work program, you'll work directly with young people aged 15-24 to help them overcome barriers and build brighter futures through employment and education. You'll provide tailored, person-centred support that empowers participants to set goals, build confidence, and access meaningful opportunities.

  • Caseload Management: Deliver flexible case management to a diverse caseload of young people, supporting both vocational and non-vocational needs.
  • Engage & Coach: Build trust-based relationships, conduct assessments, and deliver individual and group sessions to increase employability and motivation.
  • Integrated Support: Connect participants with community services, advocate for access to resources, and support post-placement success.
  • Program Delivery: Maintain accurate documentation, contribute to continuous improvement, and ensure compliance with program guidelines.
  • Community Engagement: Collaborate with employers, schools, and support networks to create inclusive pathways for youth employment.

What You Bring

We're looking for someone who is passionate about youth empowerment and brings the right mindset and strengths across the following areas:

  • Empathetic Coaching: A strengths-based, emotionally intelligent approach to mentoring young people.
  • Relationship Building: Skilled in culturally sensitive engagement and rapport-building with diverse participants.
  • Organised & Adaptable: Able to manage competing priorities and meet performance targets in a dynamic environment.
  • Tech Savvy: Confident with Microsoft Office, CRMs, and digital tools.
  • Qualifications & Checks: A qualification in Community Services, Youth Work, Employment Services or related field is highly regarded. Must have a current Driver's Licence and be able to obtain a National Police Check and Working with Children Check.
