A bit about the role
The primary objective of a Youth Engagement Coordinator is to establish and maintain important connections with community partners and organisations to strengthen employment and training pathways for young people in the Transition to Work program. Our Youth Engagement Coordinators are responsible for a variety of projects and activities that help engage disadvantaged and vulnerable young people with the Transition to Work program, bridging that gap between leaving school and starting a career for young people, all across Victoria
No two days will look quite the same when keeping industry partners engaged with our services. Our Youth Engagement team coordinate and facilitate a variety of projects and activities that work towards breaking down complex barriers to employment and education for young people, creating better futures for your community.
The Youth Engagement Coordinator's role is to bridge the gap between our Transition to Work Program and the young people it aims to help. By working closely with these different groups, this role ensures that the program can provide the necessary support and resources to empower disadvantaged youth, ultimately helping them grow personally and professionally.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum Certificate IV qualification in Mental Health, Youth Work, Community Services or Career Development is essential and non-negotiable.
- Demonstrated experience in employment services, training industries, and/or community/youth sectors, preferably with a track record of achievements and impact.
- Ability to engage and work effectively with diverse client groups, understanding their needs and delivering tailored support and guidance.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with clients, stakeholders, and partners, fostering collaborative relationships for effective service delivery.
- Capacity to identify challenges and develop innovative solutions to address complex issues faced by individuals or communities within the specified sectors.
