Location: Whyalla, South Australia.

Status: Part Time working 30.4 hours per week (working days negotiable), Contract to 30 June 2026

Annual Salary: from $88,082 to $91,986 per annum based on part-time

About the Position

The Project Coordinator will play a key role in coordinating the program, ensuring that all partners collaborate effectively to deliver accessible, integrated, and tailored mental health and family support services. The role includes conducting community consultation, supporting governance structures, managing logistics for engagement activities, and contributing to ongoing monitoring and evaluation.

As a Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include:

  • Conduct community consultation to ensure the needs and priorities of the Whyalla community are accurately captured and reflected.
  • Coordinate and oversee the operations of the Surviving to Thriving Program.
  • Deliver accessible and integrated mental health and family support services tailored to Whyalla's needs.
  • Embed a community co-design approach that fosters inclusion, ownership, and long-term outcomes.
  • Build the capacity of the local workforce and services to respond to mental health and family wellbeing.
  • Develop, facilitate and deliver presentations, education and program initiatives that are responsive to the current and changing needs of the local community.
  • Strengthen coordination and collaboration across community organisations.
  • Provide ongoing monitoring and evaluation to inform future policy and investment.
  • Ensure the funding requirements of the program are achieved.
  • Ensure that all reports are submitted in accordance with funding requirements.
  • Assess the eligibility and needs of Program clients.
  • Ensure that services are appropriate, coordinated and integrated.
  • Engage and partner with community members, stakeholders, Government and non-Government organisations to determine appropriate service options for clients.
  • Identify gaps in services and develop strategies to ensure program partners can meet community support needs.
  • Provide outreach support services and link clients with other appropriate services that support their needs.
  • Develop strong knowledge of, and professional relationships with the various service areas across the region.
  • Participate in networking opportunities to maximise collaboration across the region.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to develop program partners skills and competency to ensure the effective delivery of client support.
  • Collect and maintain data and records in accordance with program requirements.
  • Provide written monthly reports in accordance with program requirements.
  • Travel and work across sites within CCCSA service footprint, which can be at times, short notice and for varying lengths of time.
  • Be flexible and able to adapt to working across differing programs and locations to meet service demands and community needs.
  • Carry out other duties as directed by the Manager.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

Essential Criteria

The following competencies are required for this position:

  • A formal qualification in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, Community Development or Management related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating community-based programs, including stakeholder engagement and service integration.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to build effective partnerships across sectors.
  • Experience in developing and facilitating groups, presentations and workshops.
  • Experience in providing direct support to individuals using a case management framework.
  • Experience in working with people from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, and other diverse groups.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and connections.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand and promote mental health issues.
  • Ability to collect, analyse, and report on program data to support monitoring and evaluation.
  • Experience in working in a highly confidential manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as a cooperative team member to achieve team objectives.
  • Ability to apply initiative, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • High level of ability in using Information Technology and Microsoft Office programs.

Desirable Criteria

The following competencies are highly desirable for this position:

  • Knowledge of the Cleary and Carson Engagement Framework or similar communication engagement models
  • Understanding of the Whyalla community, its strengths, challenges, and service landscape.

Requirements of the role:

  • Hold (or willingness to obtain) a current DHS Working With Children Check *
  • Hold (or a willingness to obtain) a National Criminal History Record Check (Police Check) *
  • Hold a current South Australian Driver's License (minimum Provisional License)
