Our Project Strategy & Delivery team in Adelaide is looking for experienced Project Managers with 5-10 years of experience to support the delivery of our committed work and growing pipeline of prospects for government and institutional clients. This role offers significant career progression opportunities within Mott MacDonald.
The role will focus on supporting Mott MacDonald and partner teams on design and construction delivery in our fastest-growing sectors of Water and Defence. Project work may also extend to the buildings, health, and transportation sectors. You will be joining as a mid-level member of a diverse national team of project delivery consultants who work alongside our technical teams. They are passionate about what they do, with a proven track record of guiding our clients and leading the delivery of our most critical projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing and maintaining client relationships
- Collaborating with project advisors and our technical team to create client contract packages for various elements of project delivery
- Developing, managing, and implementing detailed project plans to ensure the achievement of key objectives, including scope, budget, schedule, and quality standards
- Managing project budgets – both internal and client project budgets
- Managing/ Leading both internal and external project teams to deliver high-quality outcomes for our clients across multiple sectors including transport, health, education, and defence
What you can bring to the team
With a proven track record of project management delivery in a consulting environment, you will have the opportunity to work within major projects, lead medium-sized scopes of work, coordinate multidisciplinary teams, and deliver on time and within budget. This will involve applying expert Project Management principles; working with clients and stakeholders; developing procurement strategies and administering Construction Contracts. In the Proposals and Work Winning stage, you will also assist in the preparation of proposals, preparing reverse briefs for new scopes of work, and supporting technical bid writing.
You will have the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver high-quality results within deadlines.
You will ideally have Project Management experience in one of our high-growth markets including Water, Defence, Transport, or Energy.
You will have worked under the direction of Project Leaders throughout design and delivery stages of a complex infrastructure project management lifecycle, ideally both as a client-side and client-facing PM.
Ability to understand key technical requirements and identify deliverables and outcomes required to fulfil the client’s scope
Understanding goals and metrics that drive business, financial, and project performance and managing scope and time to optimise team performance and efficiency
Excellent communication skills with experience in leading project meetings, negotiating with stakeholders, and delivering presentations to clients
Relevant qualifications in project management, construction management, or similar fields
