Course Coordinator/Director

Edvantage Institute Australia (EIA) is a part of an international education group listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange – Edvantage Group Holdings Limited. EIA is registered by TEQSA to deliver Higher Education programs. EIA is a sister college of Global Business College of Australia (GBCA), a nationally recognised training organisation (RTO) and Vocational Education and Training (VET) provider. GBCA has also partnered with University of Canberra to jointly deliver higher education in Melbourne CBD.
Overview of the Role:
The role of the Course Coordinator is to take responsibility for a particular course and to support the planning, development, and delivery of that course.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Unit development and design
Develop and/or oversee all aspects of unit design, including the embedding of discipline-specific and generic skills and EIA Graduate Attribute and the development and alignment of learning outcomes, learning activities, and assessment.
Enhance to unit design, teaching material, activities, and assessment in response to student feedback, and in consultation with all unit coordinators.
Contribute to the strategic development and direction of the course through regular formal and informal communication with the Academic Director and other academic governance committee meetings.
Teaching teams
Develop a team attitude among staff teaching the course.
Work with the Associate Dean in the selection of teaching staff.
Resolve students' complaints associated directly with units in the course.
Undertake teaching duties each trimester as directed by the Associate Dean.
Review and quality enhancement
Manage moderation of assessment (assignment and final exam).
Manage peer review of assessment instrument.
Ensure the timely return of marked students' assignments.
Ensure timely entry of all assessment marks into Moodle.
Attending Examination Review Committee meeting and provide written and/or verbal input to explain the distribution of grades.
Assessment, grading, and moderation
- Review and evaluate course in relation to the course learning outcomes and provide written and/or verbal inputs to the relevant oversight committee.
Experience and Qualifications
Minimum:
Master's degree IT.
3 years' professional experience in a discipline-related industry.
3 years' teaching experience at a tertiary level.
Desirable:
PhD in IT, Cybersecurity, or a related discipline.
Proven track record of research and publication in a relevant field of study.
Skills & competencies
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of general marketing theory with at least one specialization.
Highly developed organizational skills.
Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal and written), and presentation skills.
