About the role

Join the talented culinary team at Italo Bowral as a Chef. This is a full-time position based in the charming town of Bowral, NSW. You will be responsible for preparing and cooking exceptional Italian and Mediterranean-inspired dishes using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. This is an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary expertise and passion for creating delicious, high-quality meals in a thriving regional restaurant.

What you'll be doing

  • Prepare, cook and plate a variety of dishes from the restaurant's menu
  • Ensure all food items are prepared to the highest standard of quality and presentation
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
  • Collaborate with the head chef and kitchen team to develop new menu items and seasonal specials
  • Adhere to all food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Provide excellent customer service and assist the front of house team as required

What we're looking for

  • Formal culinary qualifications or equivalent experience as a Chef
  • Demonstrated expertise in preparing and cooking Italian and/or Mediterranean cuisine
  • Excellent knife skills and a strong understanding of food preparation techniques
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure kitchen environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high food quality standards
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Passion for using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients
