Eligibility

  • To be eligible for employment with the OFWO you must be an Australian citizen.
  • The successful candidate must hold a current Australian Government Security Clearance (AGSVA) or be willing to undergo and obtain a Baseline security clearance.

About the Team

The Finance team, part of the Corporate Services Branch, is seeking exceptional candidates for an ongoing role focused on financial operations support, reporting to the assistant of Director. This position plays a key role in administering corporate credit cards, ensuring travel compliance, managing accounts payable and receivable, and overseeing purchase order processes. The Finance team supports the agency's operational efficiency by delivering high-quality financial services that align with Commonwealth legislation, policies, and guidelines. The team promotes integrity, accountability, and transparency in all financial transactions and supports staff with clear guidance on financial procedures and compliance requirements.

Typical Duties

The duties of this role include, however, are not limited to:

  • Administer corporate credit cards in accordance with policy and Commonwealth Resource Management Framework requirements.
  • Regular review credit card transactions and effectively resolve non-compliance activities.
  • Provide guidance to staff on appropriate card usage and acquittal processes.
  • Follow up outstanding issues and support monthly reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate and process staff travel requests and expense claims, ensuring compliance with travel policies and delegations.
  • Liaise with the travel provider to resolve booking or invoicing issues promptly.
  • Provide advice and support to staff on travel procedures and entitlements.
  • Accurately record and process invoices, ensuring proper coding, approval and payment within agreed timeframes.
  • Support business areas with advice on purchasing, delegations, and documentation requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records in financial systems and contribute to continuous process improvements.
  • Provide responsive, professional, and solutions-focused support to staff and external suppliers.
  • Communicate financial information clearly to non-finance staff.
  • Foster positive working relationships across the agency to promote compliance and efficiency.
  • Contribute to process improvements and system enhancements.
  • Support the Manager with reporting, reconciliations and audit preparation as required.
