ABOUT THE TEAM & BRANCH

The Service Delivery Office (SDO) is a leader in providing services to Commonwealth entities. The SDO presents a unique opportunity to be involved in developing innovative service delivery arrangements, with an approach to collaboration and sharing of resources that has the potential to add value to not only for existing customers but to set the scene for new ways of working across the Australian Public Service (APS).

The Operations & Service Management Branch is one of three branches within the Enterprise Systems and Services Division and provides a range of corporate transactional services to Commonwealth entities in areas of human resources, payroll, finance and travel and expense management. The Branch works collaboratively with its client entities on delivering services more efficiently, through streamlining processes, and increasing self-service capability, to allow staff to focus on high-value, customer service-based activities.

The Engagement & Finance team provides essential support to the division by driving strategic financial oversight, operational performance reporting, procurement and stakeholder engagement. As the division's Finance Business Partner, the team delivers expert services in financial and procurement operations, data analytics, pricing strategy, and client cost recovery to ensure informed decisions, financial sustainability, and effective service delivery.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY

The Engagement & Finance team has the opportunity for an APS 6 Financial Data Reporting Officer to join a small, supportive and high performing team. We are looking for a self-motivated and proactive team player who has proven finance business partner expertise, can manage outcomes and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

The APS 6 Financial Data Reporting Officer under general guidance from the Assistant Director of Financial Management is responsible for but not limited to:

  • Managing and coordinate monthly performance data collection and data analysis
  • Preparing of Quarterly Client Entity Performance Reports
  • Support development of the annual review of the Cost Price Model
  • Assist with audit requests related to performance reporting
  • Assist team with monthly financial requirements such as journal processing, invoicing, account analysis and monthly reporting.
  • Management of correspondence through group communication channels including but not limited to Outlook, Finance Teams etc
  • Drive team progress by meeting objectives and milestones.
  • Supervision and training of junior staff.
