ABOUT THE DIVISIONS
Procurement Division is responsible for providing advice and guidance to the Government on the procurement policy framework (including AusTender); building public sector and industry capability in procurement; and coordinated procurement contracting arrangements for whole of government procurement including consultants, labour hire, travel, motor vehicle leasing and stationery and office supplies.
The Risk, Claims and Regulatory Reform Division is a diverse, multi-disciplinary division with people and stewardship at its heart. It is responsible for ensuring regulation is modern and fit-for-purpose; enabling effective risk management across government; driving the safe and responsible uptake of AI across the public service; operating whole-of-government insurance (Comcover); and managing the thousands of claims and discretionary payment requests Finance receives each year. ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
There are two Executive Officer (EO) roles available – one for Procurement Division and one for Risk, Claims and Regulatory Reform Division. EOs will provide high level executive support to the First Assistant Secretary and coordinate effectively with the Division Executive Assistants and other members of Finance executive and their offices to support the effective operation of the Division.
The EO requires an ability to think strategically, have high attention to detail, an ability to operate in a fast-paced environment and develop productive working relationships across the Division, the Department and with external stakeholders. Duties for the EO role include:
- Coordinate deliverables of the division, engage with Assistant Secretaries and other business areas to ensure deliverables and input are provided on time, to a high quality and with the required engagement and work area input.
- Preparation of briefing material to support the First Assistant Secretary and other members of the executive as required, including talking points, presentations, briefing papers and ministerial correspondence.
- Manage the workflow of information, briefing materials and other submissions through Microsoft Outlook, PDMS and SharePoint.
- Coordinate the division's input to key departmental deliverables, including but not limited to financial reporting, workforce management, annual report, corporate and business plans, internal audit and risk management.
- Liaise effectively with the Deputy Secretary's office and the Secretary's office as required.
A merit list may be created to fill similar roles.

- Successful applicants will be required to undergo the process to obtain and maintain, or continue to hold the required security clearance level for the role as indicated in the downloadable job pack. All Finance staff are required to have a minimum baseline security clearance prior to commencement.
- This role is being advertised as both ongoing and non-ongoing. Roles may be offered as either ongoing or non-ongoing subject to operational requirements. Where a non-ongoing position is offered, the role will be filled for a specified term of up to 12 months. Specified term vacancies may be extended up to a maximum period of 18 months.
