SMFK's distinctive features make it one of the most famous worldwide. Now we are looking for an experienced RETAIL BUYER working in our Sydney store. A qualified candidate will be responsible for identifying and securing the best products to meet the needs of our customers, negotiating with suppliers, and optimizing our product assortment to drive sales and profitability.
About the Role:
As a RETAIL BUYER, you will be responsible for selecting and buying clothes and accessories for our store's sales. You'll collaborate with our suppliers, analyze consumer trends, and support the marketing and product lifecycle of SMFK brand products. From forecasting demand to creating engaging content for in-store training and marketing collateral, your contributions will ensure the success of SMFK's product range.
○Position: Permanent Full Time
○Hours of Work: 9:30 am-5:30 pm, Monday to Friday
○Salary Package: 81,000+super/per year
○Location: Sydney
○Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree academic qualification in Commerce with International Business or a related fashion, retail management, or marketing major is a must;
Highly proficient in English (mandatory) and Mandarin speaking skills in a business context is a must.
At least 3 years of full-time RETAIL BUYER working experience in a retail industry that is highly related to fashion and design, clothes, shoes, and accessories is a must;
Strong financial and commercial business acumen;
Knowledge of competitors with the ability to form educated opinions to affect commercial decisions;
Is a trend enthusiast, and has a passion for trends and an eye for what's next in consumer products;
With a strong understanding of all critical path elements and their impact on delivery, your proven track record of effective stock management is evident within your experience.
Has working experience both in Asian countries (China, Japan, etc.)and Australia related to the fashion industry of marketing, sales, and purchase, or a retail clothes shop manager is preferred.
Excellent negotiation and communication skills;
Proficiency in inventory management and sales analysis tools;
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple priorities.
○ Responsibilities:
Ø Monitoring inventory levels and sales data. Ensure timely restocking of best-selling items. Stay informed about related trade, vendors, and overall market trends, price fluctuations, and new product and design developments to keep SMFK competitive.
Ø Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiate with them in relation to purchase, promotion, and supply. Consistently liaise with supply chain and production, monitoring commitment and intake, controlling stock flow based on realistic forward projections at the required level for SMFK;
Ø Formulate and control the price of all related products, carry out the plan and strategy of marketing, promotion, and product display in stages, and follow up on the implementation.
Ø Maintain barrier-free communication with the company's management. Ensuring that long-term purchasing and sales strategies align with overall business goals and management plans;
Ø Analysing sales data to forecast future demand and plan purchasing accordingly, aligning with the company budget and targets. Set the next phase of the work plan and work goals according to historical budget needs.
Ø Monitoring industry trends and consumer behaviour to identify new product opportunities and expand product ranges. Grasp consumer trends, the quantity, style, and quality of products should be adjusted depending on the movement of customer trends;
Ø Construct a well-balanced range framework which offers the right mix of categories to match the customer/demographic fashion requirements, based on history and current performance;
Ø Conducting thorough quality assessments of received goods, including packaging and expiration dates, to ensure compliance with company standards;
Ø Evaluating supplier performance and negotiating agreements to ensure cost-effectiveness and quality assurance;
Ø Maintaining accurate records of all procurement activities, contracts, and supplier relationships;
Ø Responsible for the Open-To-Buy budget, assortment plan, stocks to sales ratio (stock level), and development of the assigned brand/s, ensuring attainment of the set business sales targets.
