The importance of water to the health of our world can't be overstated.
As the frequency and intensity of floods, droughts and storms increases, the water industry must continue to build resiliency and lead from the front.
Together with our clients, we are thinking and doing things differently to help pre-empt and prepare for what's next. Be a part of this dynamic and committed team of diverse water specialists and drive change for your community.
You'll be able to apply our powerful global network of skills and decades of experience to create positive water outcomes that respect nature and nurture communities.
Who are we looking for?
We're looking for a skilled Flood Modeller and Senior or Technical Director level to join our Water Resources Team in Sydney and help us deliver exciting and impactful projects.
Key to your role is the development of flood models, including both hydrology and hydraulics, for all phases of projects; from planning studies, impact assessments, through to detailed design of infrastructure and water specific projects.
You will also focus on project delivery and business development, through identifying opportunities and proposal development to secure new work.
You'll join a great company culture with strong supportive relationships, and benefit from the career development, mentorship and growth opportunities that our team can provide.
Working with an energetic and high performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Developing flood models, management plans, impact assessments, and reporting to support water-related projects such as major infrastructure, dams, mining, energy, and development projects.
- Managing multidisciplinary projects, maintaining strong client relationships, coordinating with stakeholders to deliver project outcomes.
- Conducting technical reviews and mentoring junior staff, providing guidance and feedback to help them develop their skills.
- Contributing to business development and writing proposals, identifying opportunities to secure new projects.
What you will bring to the team
- Bachelor of Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or equivalent.
- Between 8 & 20 years of experience in a similar role in a consulting environment.
- Strong skills in flood modelling, including proficiency in GIS, TUFLOW, HECRAS, specialist hydrology software (RORB, WBNM, etc.,) along with advanced analytical and excel skills
- Strong client relationship skills and project management skills in water resources projects
- A well-developed understanding of NSW & Australian legislation, including Australian Rainfall and Runoff.
We're open to discussing full time or part time options.
Interested? Apply now with your CV and a Cover Letter.
