**About the role**
As the Flood Resilience Planning Manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic land use planning framework for the Authority and the NSW Government, with a focus on flood risk management. Your technical leadership and expert advice will support short-term land use decisions in collaboration with the Department of Planning, Housing and Industry and contribute to the long-term development of Disaster Adaptation Plans.

Key Accountabilities:

- Provide expert planning advice and recommendations concerning land use planning decisions, particularly focusing on flood affectation and evacuation modelling.
- Lead and facilitate the creation of strategic land use planning frameworks, integral to the development of Disaster Adaptation Plans.
- Collaborate effectively with various stakeholders, including government agencies, industry representatives, and local government, to foster engagement and communication regarding strategic land use planning strategies.
- Oversee the preparation of reports, briefs, and correspondence to inform and respond to agency and government requests.
- Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation strategies for the strategic land use framework project, addressing risk and contingency management, benefits realisation, and overall project effectiveness.

**About you**
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about flood resilience and has a proven track record in strategic land use planning. You will have a solid understanding of New South Wales government processes and policy making, along with experience in interpreting and implementing statutory planning legislation.

Key Knowledge and Experience:

- Demonstrated understanding of NSW government legislation, policies, and processes especially relating to statutory and strategic land use planning.
- Experience in natural hazard adaptation strategy and planning.
- Advanced analytical and research skills to support decision-making and strategy development.

Essential Requirements:

- Tertiary qualification in public policy, planning, law, ecology, environmental science, or a related discipline, or equivalent expertise.

**About the Agency**
The NSW Reconstruction Authority (the Authority) is a statutory corporation within Planning, Housing and Infrastructure. The Authority will improve how NSW plans for disasters and help communities to recover from them faster.
To reduce the severity and impacts of disasters, the Authority will complete critical planning and preparation with communities, NGOs, businesses, and government. When disaster does strike, we will get recovery started swiftly and coordinate reconstruction efforts across agencies, communities, and other stakeholders.
