Medical Officer

Key responsibilities

  • Leading the informed consent process, making clinical assessments of potential trial participants, and determining eligibility for study enrolment
  • Providing and developing training for Medical Officers, with respect to clinical trial planning and conduct of studies.
  • Having an understanding of the potential adverse reactions of all clinical trials being conducted
  • Participate in feasibility reviews and providing feedback on clinical trials protocols to ensure seamless and safe conduct of proposed clinical activities
  • Monitoring participants on studies to optimize participant safety
  • Provision of medical care to healthy volunteers and patients in Phase I trials
  • Interpretation of sign-off on diagnostic test results
  • Acting as an Investigator for early-phase clinical trials

Requirements

  • Full General AHPRA registration (min of 3 years' experience)
  • Minimum 1-year Clinical Trials experience
  • Relevant GCP training within past 2 years
  • Ability to work well within a multi-disciplinary team (clinical and non-clinical staff)
