**Job Description**:
As a Medical Receptionist at Hallet's Medical Clinic, you will be responsible for managing the front desk and providing excellent customer service to our patients. Your role is key in creating a positive first impression and facilitating efficient clinic operations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- Greet and check in patients, ensuring a welcoming and professional atmosphere.
- Schedule, reschedule, and confirm patient appointments, including follow-up visits.
- Answer phone calls and handle patient inquiries with courtesy and efficiency.
- Collect and verify patient information, including insurance details, medical history, and contact information.
- Process patient payments, manage billing inquiries, and assist with insurance claims and referrals.
- Maintain and update patient records in our electronic health record (best practice) system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
- Assist with various administrative tasks such as filing, faxing, and office organization.
- Coordinate with medical and support staff to ensure smooth patient flow and effective communication.
- Handle patient correspondence and documentation in a confidential manner, adhering to HIPAA regulations.
**Qualifications**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certification in medical office administration or related field is a plus.
- Previous experience in a medical office or similar administrative role preferred.
- Proficiency with Best Practice and office software (e.g., MS Office).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong focus on customer service.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and insurance processes is beneficial.
