At Total Tools and Hardware Group (TTHG), we're more than just a supplier — we're a powerhouse supporting over 600 independent stores nationwide. This is a senior leadership role working directly with the Hardware Group, focused on the Trade category — one of the most commercially significant areas of our business. You'll be responsible for leading a high-performing team of Merchants, owning the strategy, and driving performance across a national network.

What you will be doing:

As our Business Unit Manager, you will:

• Lead, coach, and develop a dedicated team of Category Managers and Merchants
• Drive sales, margin, and supplier income targets across key trade-focused categories
• Shape and execute forward-thinking category and promotional strategies
• Build strong supplier partnerships and lead commercial negotiations
• Stay ahead of industry trends to identify new opportunities for innovation
• Be a visible leader across the TTHG network, working cross-functionally with senior stakeholders and retail partners
• Influence major business decisions and represent Merchandise at executive level

You're likely a match if you are/have:

• An experienced leader - You've managed teams in a fast-paced retail or trade environment and know how to coach, motivate, and hold people accountable
• Commercially sharp - You understand the full P&L and know how to build margin while delivering customer value
• Category-savvy - You bring deep knowledge of category management, product lifecycle, ranging and promotional planning
• A strong communicator & influencer - You're confident dealing with senior internal stakeholders and suppliers, and able to bring others on the journey
• Retail or trade focused - Experience in hardware, construction, building materials, or trade-based industries is highly desirable
• Innovative and data-driven - You combine creativity with a keen eye for detail and the ability to turn data into clear direction
