Intrax Consulting Engineers are an Australian owned, mid-sized engineering company that provide an end to end service to our clients across a range of services including: Structural, Civil, Residential, Building Services, Forensic, Surveying and Geotechnical Engineering.

We are expanding our UAV capabilities and are seeking a surveyor to join our Drone Survey team in our Site Investigation department, operating across Greater Melbourne and Geelong.

This is an entry-level role, ideal for a recent surveying or geospatial graduate, or someone with a couple of years field experience looking to take the next step. It offers a clear pathway to becoming a Senior Remote Pilot, taking on larger UAV-led projects within our growing land survey team.

Your role will include, but will not be limited to:
  • Carrying out drone survey missions as required
  • Daily travel to field sites to capture accurate spatial data
  • Data processing using in-house tools (no prior experience required)
  • Occasional overnight stays for remote or interstate projects
  • Paid overtime for fieldwork beyond standard expectations
You will need to have:

Required:
  • A formal qualification in Surveying, Geospatial Science, or a related field
  • Solid understanding of basic surveying principles
  • Experience using survey instruments (total station and/or GPS)
  • Strong coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Willingness to upskill in UAV operations and adopt new technology
Desired:
  • Experience using GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS, etc.)
  • Remote Pilot License (RePL) – Training provided if not yet licensed
  • Demonstrated adaptability to new survey technologies, systems and workflows
