Your new role

As the Insurance Risk & Compliance Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in managing the agency's insurance governance framework. You will coordinate and administer insurance risk and compliance functions, provide expert advice, and ensure effective claims management across the organisation.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate, monitor, and administer the agency's insurance risk and compliance function.
  • Provide high-level advice on insurance matters to internal stakeholders.
  • Undertake complex research and analysis of insurance and financial issues, preparing high-quality reports and recommendations.
  • Analyse premiums and claims data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Conduct risk assessments and support the implementation of risk mitigation strategies.
  • Maintain a centralised system for insurance claims and ensure consistent claims management practices.
  • Collaborate with external providers such as RiskCover and insurers to manage disputes and meet compliance requirements.
  • Stay up to date with trends in insurance risk management and compliance frameworks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Must be Australian citizen or PR
  • Strong understanding of insurance principles, processes, and governance.
  • Proven ability to manage insurance governance programs and claims processes.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships and provide expert advice.
  • Demonstrated risk management capability and compliance knowledge.
  • Analytical and conceptual skills to develop effective solutions to complex issues.
  • Desirable:
    Tertiary qualification in business, commerce, finance, or a related field.
