About the role

Multiple Support Worker roles at YUMBA-META LTD, a leading provider of community services and development in Townsville, Queensland. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing direct support and assistance to young people and families in the local community.

What you'll be doing

  • Offering support to young people and families to help them overcome challenges and reach their goals
  • Facilitating programs and activities to promote personal growth and wellbeing
  • Maintaining detailed case notes and records to monitor client progress
  • Collaborating with other team members and stakeholders to deliver holistic support services
  • Advocating for clients and connecting them with relevant community resources and services
  • Ensure that safe practices are in place for clients in the workplace
  • Ensure administrative and cleaning tasks are completed

What we're looking for

  • Proven experience in a similar support worker or youth/community services role
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and rapport with young people and families from First Nations, Torres Strait Islander and other vulnerable groups
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a compassionate and person-centred approach
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies and procedures in the community services sector
  • Qualifications in youth work, social work, psychology or a related field are highly regarded
