We invite applications for an Accountant to join our head office team in Wembley. Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will contribute to a medium-sized finance team that includes accountants, accounts payable, credit, and payroll officers. You will also collaborate directly with the Director and business owners, who are Perth-based. This role suits a CA / CPA qualified professional or someone progressing towards accreditation.

About the role:

  • Drive daily cash flow management and provide regular updates
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts in Xero on a daily basis
  • Review weekly payroll and accounts payable files prepared by the Payroll/AP teams
  • Prepare month-end journals and support the month-end close process
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Develop monthly management reports for leadership review
  • Generate Business Unit-specific reports, including plant utilisation and project profitability
  • Partner with the Financial Controller to deliver budgets and forecasts
  • Handle ad hoc finance tasks with accuracy and efficiency
  • Work closely with Managers and Operations Teams to analyse and enhance business performance
  • Provide cross-functional support to Payroll, Accounts Receivable, and Accounts Payable teams

Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
  • CA/CPA qualified or currently working towards certification
  • Proficiency in Xero or the ability to quickly adapt to new ERP systems
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications
  • Ability to leverage emerging technologies, including AI, to streamline processes
  • Strong collaborator with a focus on accuracy, teamwork, and results
