The Baths Middle Brighton is a multi-faceted facility (Downstairs Cafe, Upstairs Restaurant & Event Space, Health Club and Kiosk) located in Brighton with beachfront, bay and city views.

Loved by locals and visitors to the neighbourhood, our venue is also a highly sought after event location.

Downstairs at The Baths offers all-day, casual dining.

Upstairs at The Baths presents a unique restaurant & event space where we host a wide variety of celebrations with a capacity of 120 seated and 200 cocktail-style, the versatile venue can also host smaller functions for group dining. 

About the Role:

We are looking for a qualified, passionate and professional person to take on the Full-Time role of Executive Head Chef.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Formal trade qualifications in commercial cooking or equivalent experience
  • Past experience in fast-paced, high-volume kitchens
  • Previous experience with exclusive functions, private dining and restaurant
  • At least 8 years experience in high quality establishments, serving seasonal menus

Tasks & Responsibilities

  • Proven experience of a variety of dining environments - exclusive events and casual dining essential
  • Driven & passionate about food & dining experience - seasonal & local produce, menu design, dish creativity & presentation
  • All aspects of kitchen operations & consistent delivery of all associated systems - rostering, ordering, stock management, cost (wage & food) controls, OH&S compliance
  • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
  • Encourage a positive learning and supportive team culture with a high degree of professionalism
  • Leadership experience essential. You will be involved in all aspects of the kitchen team - guiding & teaching, mentoring & recruitment
  • Exceptional organisational skills - proactive & forward-thinking, regimented and orderly
  • Adaptable to new ideas for our multi-faceted business with a growth mindset
  • Work closely with other department heads
