Our Commissioning team delivers end-to-end services that ensure seamless integration, compliance of HV substation connections. From FAT, SAT, SIT and integration works with NSP, SCADA enablement and commercial operations, we cover all aspects of commissioning a HV substation connection. Working closely with our design team, we manage everything from developing pre-commissioning documentation including commissioning plans and energisation plans, and conducting HV equipment testing, to high voltage switching and coordination with EPC, network service providers, and client commissioning managers.

THE ROLE

EPEC is on the lookout for a Senior Commissioning Engineer to lead the precise and efficient commissioning of substation primary plant and secondary systems. You'll bring your technical expertise to the forefront, ensuring projects are delivered safely, smoothly, and to a high standard.

In this role, you'll manage commissioning activities across internal teams and external contractors, ensuring compliance and minimising risk. You'll also leverage your industry experience to provide expert engineering advice on substation commissioning and maintenance, while developing commissioning plans, outage plans, inspection and test plans, and secondary works programs to support project staging and delivery.

Strong communication skills are key—we need someone who can translate complex technical details into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. If you're a collaborative problem-solver with a sharp eye for detail, we'd love to hear from you.

ABOUT YOU

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Engineering acceptable for membership of Institution of Engineers Australia in the Professional Engineering category
• Full working rights within Australia essential
• Willingness and availability to travel interstate when required
• Career background in the delivery of multi-discipline complex high voltage grid connection projects
• Dedicated, driven and hardworking, going above and beyond to solve problems and meet critical deadlines
• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain strong customer relationships at all levels and successfully negotiate with and influence senior level stakeholders
• Comprehensive understanding of risk management and knowledge of quality assurance principles
• Valid Australian drivers licence essential
