We're looking for an experienced Commissioning Engineer to join our Brisbane engineering team. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll take the lead in safely energizing and transitioning PV, BESS, and Extra High Voltage (EHV) substations into operational readiness — ensuring seamless project delivery and compliance with grid and safety standards.

What You'll Do

  • Lead commissioning, testing, and energization of PV, BESS, and HV/EHV systems.
  • Manage pre-commissioning checklists, protocols, and commissioning plans.
  • Coordinate with EPC teams, OEMs, utilities, and grid operators for energization.
  • Deliver detailed documentation, reports, and test records for client sign-off.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve commissioning issues to keep projects on schedule.
  • Ensure strict compliance with grid codes, statutory requirements, and safety standards.

What You'll Bring

  • 7+ years' commissioning experience on utility-scale solar, BESS, or substation projects.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering (mandatory); CPEng and RPEQ highly regarded.
  • Strong technical expertise across LV/MV/HV/EHV electrical systems and protection testing.
  • Proven experience with grid compliance testing (NER/AEMO standards), SCADA integration, and functional testing.
  • Skilled with commissioning test equipment (Omicron, Megger, Fluke, etc.).
  • Safety-conscious, proactive problem-solver with excellent communication skills.
