Overview:

Our client, a leader in the Power Transmission & Distribution sector, is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join their Brisbane office on a permanent basis.

This position offers the opportunity to be directly involved in the design and delivery of complex electrical infrastructure across industrial and energy-related projects. With a focus on high and low voltage systems, the role will see you contributing to the full lifecycle of design, ensuring technical accuracy, safety, and project compliance, while working closely with project stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop electrical design packages for large-scale infrastructure and industrial projects.
  • Deliver comprehensive designs for HV and LV systems, including control and protection arrangements.
  • Prepare layouts and schematics for equipment such as transformers, switchgear, MCCs, and distribution systems.
  • Produce cable schedules, termination drawings, and perform calculations to ensure correct sizing and performance.
  • Assist with the creation and review of project specifications and tender documentation.
  • Undertake technical analysis to verify system performance and compliance with relevant codes.
  • Provide engineering input during construction and commissioning phases, including inspections and issue resolution.
  • Coordinate design interfaces with internal teams and external contractors/consultants.
  • Maintain thorough records, drawings, and documentation to support project delivery.
  • Contribute to project planning, risk assessments, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Experience:

  • Significant background in electrical engineering within the power, resources, or heavy industry environment.
  • Strong track record in HV and LV design, including protection systems, distribution networks, and control systems.
  • Hands-on experience with MCCs, switchgear, and associated electrical infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within project teams and across disciplines.
  • Skilled in developing detailed technical documentation and reviewing engineering specifications.
  • Previous involvement in construction support, commissioning, or inspection activities is highly regarded.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
