Accountant

An opportunity exists for an experienced and detail-oriented Accountant to support financial reporting, statutory compliance, ASX obligations and internal governance across a group of five Australian entities. Working closely with the Finance Manager, this role is central to ensuring accurate, high-quality financial information and compliant reporting across the organisation.

Financial Reporting & Month-End

• Prepare month-end journals, reconciliations, schedules and supporting workbooks.
• Produce monthly management accounts including variance analysis and commentary.
• Maintain and improve month-end processes to ensure accuracy and consistency.

Statutory, Audit & ASX Compliance

• Assist with the preparation of half-year and annual statutory financial statements in line with AASB/IFRS.
• Coordinate audit requests, supporting documentation and auditor communications.
• Complete the quarterly Appendix 5B for ASX reporting.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Cashflow

• Support the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
• Assist in cashflow monitoring, forecasting and related analysis.
• Contribute to financial modelling and scenario analysis as required.

Payroll & Taxation

• Manage payroll preparation and timesheet processing.
• Prepare and ensure compliance with GST, Income Tax, FBT, Payroll Tax and Superannuation obligations.

Exploration & Tenement Reporting

• Prepare project, exploration and tenement reporting in line with internal and external requirements.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date registers including tenements, contracts and land access.

Governance & Internal Controls

• Prepare technical accounting papers and assist with application of AASB/IFRS standards.
• Support the implementation of internal controls and governance processes.
• Assist with Committee, Board and AGM reporting requirements.

General Finance Support

• Provide day-to-day assistance to the Finance Manager across all finance functions.
• Contribute to process improvement, systems enhancement and operational efficiency initiatives.

• Degree in Accounting or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualified or currently progressing.
• Experience preparing or auditing financial statements.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (AASB/IFRS).
• High level of proficiency in Excel and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.
• Self-motivated, proactive and able to work independently.
• Experience within an ASX-listed exploration or mining company is advantageous.
