About the Opportunity
Our Finance team, based in Perth CBD, are currently seeking an experienced and qualified
Accountant
to join them. In this role you will report to the Finance Manager.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Assist with payroll documentation, leave balance reviews, and employee queries.
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports, including variance analysis and commentary.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes across departments.
- Contribute to month end and year end close activities, including journal entries and accruals.
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial models and dashboards for internal reporting.
- Documenting and updating work instructions as procedures evolve.
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies.
- Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and responding to queries.
- Monitor financial data for accuracy and regulatory adherence.
- Stay up to date with relevant legislation and industry standards.
- Provide administrative and transactional support to Payroll, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Banking functions.
- Support invoicing, receipting, and reconciliation for salary packaging and novated lease transactions.
- Assist with supplier invoice processing and onboarding.
- Perform daily bank reconciliation support and help resolve discrepancies.
- Assist with ad hoc journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Maintain awareness of industry trends and developments.
- Foster collaboration and knowledge sharing within the Finance Team.
About You
As an Accountant, you will play a vital role in supporting the Finance team by ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of financial operations across accounts receivable, accounts payable, and reporting functions.
You bring a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent organisational skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement. Your ability to manage multiple tasks, communicate effectively with stakeholders, and maintain high standards of accuracy will make you a valuable asset to our team.
- Other key skills, experience and qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, commerce or similar field.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience using Employment Hero payroll system (desirable).
- Solid understanding of accounting principles.
- Familiarity with accounting software, Oracle NetSuite (desirable).
- Strong mathematical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
- Effective organisational and time management skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- CPA or CA qualification (desirable).
