What does a successful Application Engineer do?
As a successful Application Engineer at Fiserv, you will be essential in supporting our critical financial applications. In this dynamic role, you will ensure the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our financial analytics platform. Your expertise in application development, systems integration, and DevOps practices will be crucial to delivering high-quality solutions in a fast-paced environment. You'll be joining a dedicated team committed to excellence and innovation in the fintech industry.

What you will do:

  • Design and develop data analytics applications on the finance platform, engaging in coding and troubleshooting technical problems.
  • Provide hands-on support for financial applications, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to streamline application development and deployment processes.
  • Manage and optimize native and cloud-based infrastructure to support scalable financial applications.
  • Monitor application performance and implement changes to enhance reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to facilitate agile practices and ensure timely delivery of high-quality applications.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to application architecture, deployment procedures, and operational best practices.

What you will need to have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field and/or equivalent military experience.
  • 4+ years of experience as an Application Engineer, with a focus on DevOps practices in a payments or financial environment.
  • 4+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server, SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), and C#.
  • 4+ years of experience in troubleshooting and debugging complex SQL and C# code.
  • Proficiency in multi-tier application design and development.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) and application deployment strategies.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
