We're seeking a highly motivated Administration Officer to provide administrative assistance in the coordination and successful delivery of the operations within the Community and Business portfolio to build and strengthen our thriving community. Your opportunity

As an Administration Officer (Community & Business Development) at Quilpie Shire Council, you will be a key player in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Reporting to the Deputy Director Community & Business Development, you will provide vital administrative support, ensuring the work we do every day directly benefits our community.

With integrity and pride, you will provide administrative assistance in areas of:

  • Facility Management;
  • Community Initiatives and requests;
  • Community Events;
  • Sports and recreation Programs;
  • Disaster management; and
  • Various other general administration where required.

What you'll bring

You are a friendly, approachable and reliable team player with a passion for helping others. You are also a strong communicator and organiser who is motivated to achieve for our 700-strong community, sharing our values of Respect, Communication, Fun and Humour, Pride, Trust, and Teamwork.

To succeed in this role, you will have:

  • Current Queensland 'C' Class Driver's Licence;
  • Proven skills in providing excellent customer service;
  • Knowledge or proven ability to acquire knowledge of a broad range of corporate and community practices and associated tasks; and
  • Capacity and willingness to work in a range of different environments in varying conditions.

Although it's not essential, it would be great if you had:

  • Experience with administrative processes within a Local Government Authority;
  • Experience in Record Management Programs (EDRMS) and Civica computer programs; and
  • Experience or ability to quickly understand Council's facility booking system.
