The PCW Team Leader provides direction and leadership to Personal Care Workers in the delivery of a high standard of quality care to RDNS YCHC' clients in their own homes.
The role oversees a region of dedicated and passionate Personal Care Workers where you will provide mentorship, coaching, leadership and direction for the purpose of achieving exceptional customer service to our valued At Home Support clients, across various sites within a region.
The PCW Team Leader is a daily point of reference for resolving operational issues affecting the delivery of services.
Position Accountabilities· Provide line supervision and support for a team of Personal Care Workers (PCW) ensuring they provide services at best practice standard and aligned to RDNS YCHC values and Code of Conduct.
· Work closely with the Workforce Team Leader and other key stakeholders to plan for future workforce forecasts.
· Undertake administrative responsibilities associated with the role, including those associated with quality improvement and monitoring.
· Work closely with the rostering / scheduling team to ensure that services to clients are not compromised and achieve optimum utilisation.
· Recruit, select, induct, develop and manage the performance of staff as well as actively supporting their safety, health and wellbeing in partnership with various internal key stakeholders across the business.
· Work closely with Workforce Team Leader in reviewing and developing systems and processes.
· Ensure all reporting and documentation requirements are met, including completing and maintaining timely, accurate and efficient administrative and communication systems.
· Actively participate in the development and maintenance of relationships and networks as well as relevant committees and associations pertaining to the aged care sector.
· Provide practical assistance relating to meeting quality and audit requirements.
· Supervise and support Personal Care Workers, including competency assessment and identification of training needs.
· Provide relevant and timely feedback to Work Force Team Leader and other relevant key stakeholders which may impact on the program or client care.
Qualifications and ExperienceQualifications:
· Certificate IV Community Services, Certificate IV in Leadership / Management or equivalent, or working towards, or equivalent experience in a similar role.
Skills & Experience:
· Demonstrated history of staff leadership, coaching and management capabilities.
· Demonstrated understanding and knowledge of the needs of the clients from various funding programs (e.g. Home Care Packages, Commonwealth Home Support Programme)
· Problem solving and decision-making skills with the ability to think on your feet.
· Assessment skills and the ability to creatively problem solve care situations.
· An innovative approach to the provision of care with the goal of wellness and reablement in mind.
· Clear communication skills with the ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships.
· Aged care experience - highly regarded
· Ability to ensure workflow and continuous improvement processes are maintained.
· Proven ability to contribute to and work as part of a dynamic team in addition to operating independently.
· Demonstrated skills in networking, liaison and the development and maintenance of strong links with relevant service providers.
· Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to work within limited timeframes.
· Ability to work within an organisational framework related to policy and procedures, practices and standards of care.
· Well-developed written, oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to lead discussions, problem solve, mediate and resolve conflicts.
· Proficiency in the use of computers and related software applications, including Microsoft Office applications.
Essential ConditionsFederal Police Clearance must be attained and declaration made of any future charges or convictions that could potentially affect your role within RDNS YCHC.
May be required to travel intra or interstate with overnight stays (including weekends) on short notice.

Safety and Wellbeing
· Take reasonable care not to place at risk the health and safety of anyone in the workplace.
· Ensure effective implementation and monitoring of Group work health and safety policies and guidelines.
· Ensure relevant work health and safety legislative requirements are being met and seek advice and support from appropriate sources if in doubt.
· Ensure all incidents including injuries, illness, hazards, near misses etc. are reported, investigated or risk assessed and that appropriate controls implemented.
· Ensure work areas have appropriate equipment and safe methods.
· Ensure appropriate service provisions are in place to maintain plant and equipment.
· Ensure a regular inspection program is conducted to ensure safety standards are maintained.
· Ensure appropriate processes are used for the engagement, induction and monitoring of contractors.
· Review incident statistics and other indicators to ensure action is taken to address key risks.
· Ensure all mandatory safety training is provided and completed.
· Support injured workers whilst on suitable duties and throughout the rehabilitation process.
