Key Responsibilities
This senior role demands a balance of strategic planning, team leadership, and hands-on relationship management:
- Lead and execute a comprehensive sales strategy for the WA market, specifically designed to further embed our offer within the electrical wholesale channel and influence key electrical contractors.
- Cultivate and strengthen deep, collaborative relationships with key WA electrical wholesale accounts & exec teams, along with significant strategic contractors and specifiers, ensuring Haneco Lighting is the brand of choice for branch ranging & state and national projects. Help support channel sales through brand awareness activity and demand creation initiatives, including collaborative, strategic contractor engagement by you and your team.
- Leverage your understanding of local WA market nuances and insight to identify and capitalise on market gaps, implementing effective sales process concepts to ensure sustained, profitable growth in a fast-paced, continually evolving market.
- Provide strategic leadership to your team in developing and implementing the state sales strategy.
- Lead and mentor the WA sales team (up to two direct reports initially) to achieve and exceed sales budgets and state-based targets.
- Work autonomously, while remaining adaptable enough to collaborate with internal teams and to provide technical assistance to clients.
- Liaise with Marketing and Product Development teams to ensure brand consistency and drive product success.
- Liaise and promote healthy, supportive relationships with internal staff.
- Update and maintain a database of clients in Salesforce through the CRM system.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of our company's products and services and its capabilities to service our customers.
Key Qualities & Experience
To be successful in this role, you must possess:
- Essential: Proven, recent experience in the Australian electrical wholesale market, with a strong track record in B2B or B2T sales in Western Australia.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in the Australian electrical wholesale market is required.
- Strong technical understanding of LED lighting solutions will be a significant advantage.
- Non-negotiable: Demonstrated success in leading and mentoring a sales team.
- Exceptional interpersonal, influencing, and negotiation skills to build trust with key external clients and internal stakeholders.
- Demonstrated local experience in a similar B2B role or in direct B2B/B2T sales.
- Effective time management skills in prioritising and addressing multiple and at times conflicting demands.
- A commitment to excellence in customer service and an empathy with customers and internal staff.
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, finance, marketing or a related field, or similar relevant technical trade qualifications.
- An entrepreneurial and growth focussed mindset.
- Experience using CRM, preferably Salesforce.
