JB Farriers is looking for a reliable, detail-driven person to keep the back end of our business running smoothly.

If you enjoy numbers, systems, and staying organised - and take pride in keeping things compliant and under control - this could be a great fit.

About the Role:

Working 2–3 days per week (with flexible days), you'll take ownership of the key functions that keep our operations on track, including:

  • Accounts payable & receivable: processing invoices, payments, and reconciliations
  • End-to-end payroll: including super, leave, PAYG, and onboarding/offboarding
  • Xero management and bank reconciliations
  • BAS preparation and reporting support
  • WorkCover administration: maintaining policies, renewals, and compliance records
  • WHS management: developing and maintaining registers, procedures, and safety systems
  • Insurance & registrations: managing vehicle and business insurance, renewals, and registrations
  • General administrative support as required

About You:

You're organised, proactive, and comfortable working independently while still being part of a small, close-knit team.

You don't wait to be told what to do — you notice what needs attention and get it sorted.

You'll bring:

  • Experience with Xero, Microsoft 365, and ideally Ardex
  • A solid understanding of payroll and bookkeeping processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and record-keeping
  • Strong communication and follow-up skills
  • A practical understanding of small business operations and compliance
  • Knowledge or interest in the racing industry will be highly regarded
