Do work that makes a difference  

The SEC is building an enterprising and dynamic team to accelerate Victoria's transition to renewables and help achieve Victoria's renewable energy target of 95% by 2035. We are working together for renewable, affordable, reliable energy for all Victorians.    

Your role  

As the Regulatory Compliance Lead at SEC, you will be responsible for supporting the SEC business in meeting their regulatory compliance obligations. Specifically, you will be implementing and monitoring the broader compliance framework that will ensure SEC remain compliant. 

The role reports into the General Manager, Enterprise, Risk and Compliance, and can be based in either our Melbourne CBD office or our regional office located in Morwell.  

What you will do:  

  • Supporting the review and update of the SEC obligations registers to reflect requirements under different regulatory regimes and business areas
  • Developing and providing compliance reports to senior stakeholders in the business
  • Reviewing and supporting any new products or business activity to ensure all regulatory compliance obligations are considered
  • Assist in the development, rollout and monitoring of the SEC compliance program, including providing advice to the business on establishing complaint processes and controls
  • Conducting compliance risk assessments
  • Provide advice and support to the business on the SEC controls assurance framework and assist in executing the annual controls assurance program

Who you are:  

  • Demonstrated work experience with regulatory compliance, preferably in a high regulated industry
  • Proven ability to partner and develop relationships within the business
  • Previous experience in building and managing regulatory obligations registers
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong analytical skills

Highly Desirable: 

  • Experience in an Australian east coast energy retailer or gentailer
  • Knowledge and experience with the National Electricity Rules
  • Knowledge and experience with the National Energy Retail Rules
  • Certifications with any of the following institutes - ACI (AML/ CTF), GCI (CCM), CCB (CCEP) or OCEG (GRCP) - will be look at favourably.
