The role
As Manager Planning and Design, you'll help shape the future of Sydney Olympic Park by guiding strategic planning and urban design that respects the precinct's unique character. You'll lead the implementation and review of the Master Plan, provide expert advice on development proposals, and ensure planning policies align with SOPA's vision for a vibrant, connected community.
You'll navigate complex planning, heritage and environmental challenges while fostering design excellence and managing consultants and internal teams. With a strong customer focus and a collaborative mindset, you'll balance integrity and innovation to deliver impactful outcomes across the Park

What you will bring to the role
- Demonstrated extensive experience in both the statutory and strategic areas of planning and a proven record in urban design, policy development, assessment and resolution of complex planning, environmental, heritage and sustainability issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey ideas and collaborate with team members.
- Proven leadership qualities, including the ability to motivate and inspire others to achieve shared goals.
- Strong presentation skills and the ability to articulate and present solutions, ideas and recommendations.
- Capable of driving outcomes while effectively involving stakeholders throughout the process, fostering collaboration and buy-in.
What is an essential requirement:
- Tertiary qualifications in urban planning, urban design or related discipline and eligible for membership of the Planning Institute of Australia.
