Project Manager - Civil (Mining Infrastructure)

Location: North QLD

Roster: 10/4

Salary: $180K - $190K + Super (Open to discussion depending on experience)

About the Opportunity

We're seeking a capable and experienced Project Manager to join a respected civil contractor delivering mining and infrastructure projects across North Queensland. This position is based out of North QLD on a 5:2 DIDO or 10/4 FIFO roster, offering an excellent opportunity for someone looking to remain locally based while managing high-value civil works across mine sites.

The contractor delivers a mix of mine site civil infrastructure, haul roads, bulk earthworks, tailings dams, and concrete structures.

You'll be responsible for leading end-to-end project delivery, managing cost, safety, quality, and client relationships across multiple work fronts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee project planning, delivery, and performance on civil packages within active mine sites.
  • Lead site teams, engineers, and supervisors to meet targets for cost, schedule, safety, and quality.
  • Manage budgets, forecasting, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships with mine operators and stakeholders.
  • Ensure all work complies with environmental, safety, and legislative standards.
  • Prepare and review progress claims, cost reports, and program updates.

About You

  • Proven experience as a Project Manager (or Senior Project Engineer ready to step up) with a civil contractor working on mine site infrastructure projects.
  • Strong understanding of mine site operations, safety systems, and compliance.
  • Experience delivering civil works such as earthworks, roads, drainage, and concrete structures.
  • Excellent commercial, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
