Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation is seeking a motivated and organised General Clerk to join our team in Derby, WA. This role is central to supporting the day-to-day operations of the Corporation by providing high-quality administrative, clerical, and office management services across all departments.

This is a Full Time Role based in Derby, WA.

  • Salary: $80,000 with Salary Sacrificing up to $15,899
  • Training and Development opportunities in a Supportive Team Environment
  • 5 weeks Annual Leave with Office Closure over the Christmas Period

About the Role

As the General Clerk, you'll play a vital role in keeping our office running smoothly. Your day-to-day tasks will include:

  • Scanning, filing, and distributing documents, and maintaining both physical and digital filing systems
  • Entering data, processing purchase orders and invoices, and supporting contracts, programs, and projects
  • Managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and coordinating travel arrangements and meeting logistics
  • Preparing presentations and materials for meetings and events
  • Greeting visitors, answering calls, and responding to enquiries in a professional and culturally respectful manner
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail, packages, and general correspondence
  • Managing office supplies, maintaining inventory, and ensuring the office is clean and operational
  • Coordinating boardroom bookings and organising catering for meetings and staff events
  • Providing general clerical and secretarial support across departments
  • Supporting member services and working closely with the administration team

About you:

You're proactive, culturally respectful, and diligent administrator who will bring:

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in administration, customer service, or office support
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • High attention to detail and professional presentation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • A proactive, flexible, and self-motivated approach
  • Cultural awareness and a genuine commitment to working with Aboriginal communities

Qualification & Requirements:

  • Certificate III or IV, Diploma, or relevant degree; or equivalent experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain:

  • A Working with Children Check (within last 6 months) if requested.

  • A National Police Clearance (within last 6 months)
  • Undertake pre-employment workplace medical including drug & alcohol screening

We are the Traditional Owners of the land and waters along the north-west Kimberley coastline, extending from the Robinson River, just north of Derby to the Prince Regent River in the far north of the Kimberley region in WA. It has been our home for many thousands of years. We carry the cultural responsibilities of our ancestors to look after Country. Our Country is of great conservation significance, home to many threatened and endemic species, mighty rivers, coral reefs, powerful whirlpools, rugged cliffs, sandy beaches, and more than 700 islands. Dambeemangaddee are part of the Wandjina Woongudd community. We all share a unique body of beliefs and cultural practices we maintain strong connections to our land through our Law, Culture, songs and stories. About the Corporation:

Dambimangari Aboriginal Corporation (DAC) is a small, community-driven organisation based in one of the most remote and spectacular regions of the Kimberley. We represent and work for the Dambimangari Traditional Owners, guided by Law and Culture. With a team of over 50, most of whom are Traditional Owners, DAC delivers a wide range of programs and services that support our people, protect Country, and strengthen culture.
