Sure People Solutions has an exciting opportunity for Mechanical / Machinist Trade Assistants to join our longstanding client (based in Henderson, Perth WA).

Our client is an international specialised, industrial Engineering, Management & Maintenance service provider to various global sectors, predominantly Power-generation, Defence, LNG, and Mining sectors

This role is initially casual, with permanent opportunities for the right candidates.

About the Role

You'll be working closely with highly experienced Mechanical Fitters, Machinists, and Technicians, assisting in a range of workshop and site-based tasks while receiving mentoring and training in specialised equipment and techniques.

What We're Looking For

  • Minimum 5 years' experience as a Mechanical Trades Assistant
  • At least 3 years' experience working on-site in mining or oil & gas
  • Competent in the use of hand and power tools
  • Strong focus on safety and adherence to procedures
  • Excellent communication and a team-focused attitude
  • Proactive, reliable, and eager to learn

Highly Regarded Experience

  • C Class Driver's Licence (manual preferred)
  • White Card (essential)
  • Experience in the following is well-received
    • Controlled bolting
    • Valve repair and testing
    • Composite repairs
    • On-site machining
    • Hot tapping
  • Defence sector experience
  • Working at Heights & Confined Space certifications
  • Offshore or remote site exposure
  • Current Police Clearance (or willingness to obtain)
  • Ability to pass pre-employment medical D&A screening
