We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Business Development Manager with proven experience in sales and growth strategy. The successful candidate will have strong knowledge of private equity, the ability to build and maintain investor and client relationships, and the commercial acumen to identify new opportunities. This role requires excellent communication skills, strategic thinking, and a track record of delivering measurable business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Sales and Business Development

  2. Develop and execute sales strategies to source qualified wholesale Investors and borrowers.

  3. Identify business sectors and borrower profiles that align with the risk appetite and criteria of wholesale investors.
  4. Establish and maintain a strong borrower pipeline within legal definitions of wholesale client eligibility.
  5. Collaborate with directors on setting and reviewing growth targets and strategic direction.

  6. Wholesale Borrower Engagement (Non-Advisory)

  7. Manage engagement with wholesale borrowers and facilitate deal preparation and documentation.

  8. Guide borrowers through the application and evaluation process without providing product or investment advice.
  9. Ensure borrower eligibility as wholesale clients and support compliance documentation requirements.
  10. Coordinate internal processing teams to move transactions through the pipeline efficiently.

  11. Wholesale Investor Relationship Management

  12. Act as the primary liaison for communication with external wholesale investors.

  13. Present structured borrower opportunities for consideration, including commercial summaries and risk overviews (non-advisory).
  14. Maintain open, professional communication channels with investors to build trust and engagement.
  15. Coordinate follow-ups, investor briefings, and status updates in line with compliance and confidentiality policies.

  16. Marketing and Strategic Positioning

  17. Lead marketing and visibility efforts, including campaign development, pitch decks, and branded content.

  18. Ensure that all communications clearly reflect the company's wholesale-only services.
  19. Collaborate with contractors or designers to support digital and print branding strategies.
  20. Maintain alignment of promotional materials with regulatory limits (non-retail, non-advisory).

  21. Networking and Branding

  22. Represent the company at industry conferences, networking events, and professional forums relevant to wholesale finance.

  23. Build and maintain strategic relationships with brokers, introducers, and professional advisors operating in wholesale channels.
  24. Support corporate branding across digital platforms, ensuring alignment with the company's positioning in the private capital sector.

  25. Operational Management and Team Coordination

  26. Supervise internal staff across admin, processing, and sales support roles.

  27. Coordinate daily operations to ensure timely execution of tasks across the borrower–investor lifecycle.
  28. Lead internal meetings and ensure alignment across departments and business functions.
  29. Support staff performance development and workflow optimisation.

  30. Market Research and Business Insights

  31. Research and analyse financial market trends, competitor activity, and borrower demand within the wholesale lending space.

  32. Monitor performance indicators and internal metrics to evaluate strategy effectiveness.
  33. Recommend new channels, sectors, or borrower types for expansion or deeper focus.
