About the role

Byrne Trailers is seeking an experienced and dedicated Service and Repairs Manager to join our team in Wagga Wagga. In this full-time role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Service and Repairs section. Your expertise and leadership will be crucial in ensuring our customer's trailers are well-maintained and operating at peak performance.

What you'll be doing

  • Manage and coordinate the service, maintenance, and repair activities for our trailer fleet
  • Oversee a team of skilled technicians and ensure high standards of workmanship
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to optimise workshop operations
  • Liaise with customers to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions
  • Monitor workshop performance and identify areas for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements
  • Prepare detailed reports and maintain accurate records of all service and repair activities

What we're looking for

  • Extensive experience (minimum 5 years) in a similar service and repairs management role, preferably within the commercial trailer or heavy vehicle industry
  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of trailer systems, components, and repair procedures
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively
  • Proven leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with both internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong analytical and reporting skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify areas for improvement
  • Relevant qualifications in mechanical engineering, automotive technology, or a related field
  • HC / MC Licence desirable
