Job description:

Senior Payroll Officer

We are seeking a Senior Payroll Officer to join our dynamic team at the Perth WAC Head Office. In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the Payroll Manager and play a key part in ensuring the smooth and compliant operation of our payroll function.

About the role:

This full-time position runs Monday to Friday, based at our Perth WAC Head Office, your responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring payroll processing and associate activities are accurate, timely and compliant with relevant legislation.
  • Providing responsive and accurate advisory services on payroll matters.
  • Resolving complex payroll enquiries and implementing corrective actions to ensure accurate employee payments.
  • Supporting the development and growth of the payroll team.
  • Managing salary disbursements, overpayment recovery, leave including long service leave administration, and payroll reporting.
  • Maintaining complete and accurate payroll records.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable legislation and company policies in consultation with the Payroll Manager.
  • Driving continuous improvement in payroll processes and procedures.

About you:

  • Strong Experience in the use of Microsoft Office suite of products.
  • Excellent numeracy skills, attention to detail, and a high level of accuracy.
  • Working knowledge of Chris 21 payroll software is preferred buy not mandatory.
  • Ability to interpret awards and legislation confidently.
  • Industry experience is preferred but not essential.
