Our client is looking for an Accounts Assistant to join a small finance team. Embrace a vibrant office culture. This role could lead to a permanent position for the right person

Job tasks and responsibilities

Reporting to the Finance Manager, your duties will be very varied.

Skills and experience

  • Process and manage all AP and AR transactions
  • Prepare and process supplier payments via ABA files and online banking platforms
  • Conduct bank and credit card reconciliations
  • Reconcile supplier statements monthly
  • Maintain the integrity of financial data in MYOB

  • Administer end-to-end payroll processing, including superannuation, PAYG, and STP - Monthly

  • Ensure timely compliance with Australian taxation and superannuation regulations
  • Assist external accountant with the preparation and lodgement of BAS and PAYG reports
  • Maintain employee records and ensure accurate entitlements and leave tracking

  • Prepare monthly financial reports and assist with basic financial analysis

  • Process month-end procedures including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations
  • Liaise with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and suppliers

  • Perform general administrative duties including answering emails, and document management

  • Maintain well-organised digital and physical filing systems
  • Monitor and control office supplies and support procurement functions
  • Provide ad-hoc administration support wider business as needed
  • Assist with job folder set-ups and doc control
  • Assist with site onboarding
