About the Role

As a Support Worker at Te Cepi, you'll play a vital role in enhancing participant independence, well-being, and social inclusion. You'll support community access, safe transport, and home-based assistance — always tailoring your approach to align with each participant's NDIS goals.

This is a casual position based in Victoria with flexible hours.

Pay: Base casual rates: $32–$42/hour (inclusive of 25% casual loading). Penalty rates for evenings, weekends, and public holidays can bring earnings up to $70+/hour under the SCHADS Award.

Key Responsibilities

Personal Care & Daily Living

  • Assist with dressing, grooming, showering, and hygiene
  • Provide safe mobility support and transfers
  • Support with cooking and meal preparation
  • Assist with bills and basic household tasks
  • Provide medication prompts (where applicable)
  • Encourage social and community participation

Travel & Transport

  • Build mobility skills to increase independence
  • Accompany participants to appointments and errands
  • Transport participants to social, medical, and community activities

Household Support

  • Prepare meals and maintain kitchen hygiene
  • Clean surfaces, fridges, and ovens
  • Manage laundry and linen care
  • Assist with light household upkeep

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum 1–2 years' experience in disability, aged care, or community support
  • Experience with personal care, mobility, and daily living support
  • Ability to support people with intellectual, physical, or psychosocial disabilities
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

Mandatory Requirements

  • Certificate III/IV in Disability, Individual Support, or Community Services
  • NDIS Worker Screening Check (valid)
  • Current First Aid (HLTAID011) & CPR (HLTAID009)
  • Manual Handling & Infection Control training
  • Current Australian Driver's Licence & reliable vehicle

Desirable (not required)

  • Diploma in Community Services, Social Work, or Allied Health
  • Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) or Mental Health First Aid
  • Medication Assistance Training
