About Liquor & Gaming NSW

About the Role

We're looking for an experienced Coordinator Compliance Operations to lead the day-to-day operations of a dedicated team. You will oversee a range of strategic and risk-based compliance activities, ensuring industry integrity and supporting the achievement of regulatory objectives.

In this leadership role, you will:

  • Lead, mentor, and support a compliance team to deliver best-practice outcomes.
  • Oversee complex audits, inspections (including weekend and late-night), and reviews to detect and deter non-compliance.
  • Provide expert advice on sensitive compliance matters.
  • Prepare reports, review evidence, and recommend actions on high-risk or non-compliant activities.
  • Conduct probity checks and manage regulatory schemes in line with legislation.
  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to optimise compliance outcomes.
  • Monitor operations and drive continuous improvement of compliance programs.

To be successful you will have:

You're a confident leader with proven experience in compliance within a complex regulatory and legislative environment, able to navigate sensitive and competing priorities while delivering results. You excel at building capability in others, ensuring consistency and quality in compliance activities, and balancing high work volumes with the need for accuracy and thoroughness.

You will also bring:

  • Demonstrated experience in compliance roles in a diverse regulatory/legislative setting.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Essential requirements

  • Appointment and ongoing probity screening to meet the integrity standards set out in section 14 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007.
  • The person occupying the role will be designated as a key official under section 16 of the Gaming and Liquor Administration Act 2007. and may be subject to restrictions, such as restrictions on attending certain premises.
  • Willingness and availability to meet the shift-work requirements of the role.
  • A current Class C Driver Licence
