Senior Regulatory Analyst

ACEREZ is a consortium, comprised of ACCIONA, COBRA and Endeavour Energy which has been appointed Preferred Network Operator by EnergyCo to design, deliver, operate and maintain the transmission line network for the Central-West Orana Renewable Energy Zone (CWO REZ).
The new transmission infrastructure, which will combine high-capacity transmission lines, energy hubs and related infrastructure, will enable generators such as solar and wind farms and energy storage providers in the CWO REZ to connect to the electricity grid, providing a reliable supply of clean, affordable electricity for households and businesses across NSW while helping to meet the state's newly legislated Net Zero targets.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The Senior Regulatory Analyst will leverage extensive knowledge of regulatory frameworks and compliance processes to ensure organisational adherence to laws and regulations, while identifying risks and implementing effective strategies that promote a culture of compliance and operational excellence:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Revenue Proposals – responsible for managing the preparation and submission of revenue proposals to Energy Co and the Australian Energy Regulator
- Stakeholder engagement - coordinate and support regulatory engagement with industry and key stakeholders, including meetings, documentation and responses
- Regulatory monitoring - Provide advice and briefings on regulatory developments, market outcomes, and policy reforms and oversee preparation of submissions
- Modelling support – contribute to ensuring that revenue and financial modelling is consistent with our commercial and regulatory arrangements
- Regulatory compliance – support the internal teams on achieving our regulatory reporting and compliance obligations and collaborate with other teams to meet our reporting requirements
- Regulatory advice - play a key role in supporting and advising our commercial, finance and generation connection teams on regulatory risks and implications consistent with our business plan and corporate strategy.
- Organisational Improvement - Contribute to regulatory projects and initiatives, develop training solutions to understanding and awareness across the organisation
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
- Tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and laws across the National Electricity Market and infrastructure regulation
- Knowledge and experience in the Australian energy sector, network regulation and National Electricity Rules
- Strong analytical, organizational and communication skills with attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Positive attitude, willingness to learn and commitment to a supportive team culture
- Ability to identify and clearly articulate problems and recommend solutions
- Ability to develop and maintain productive relations with internal and external key stakeholders
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and financial modelling expertise
- Strong written interpretation and problem-solving skills, with an ability to draw and articulate conclusions from a range of data and inputs.
DESIRABLE
- Previous experience in an energy network regulatory role is preferred
