We are looking for an experienced Payroll Officer who can efficiently manage our payroll processes while ensuring strict compliance with legislative requirements and company policies. This role is ideal for someone seeking flexibility and work-life balance, as it is offered on a part-time basis hours per week flexibility available other than processing day on Thursdays).

Key Responsibilities

  • Process end-to-end payroll for OTR Tyres Wheels and Axles employees, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain and update payroll records, prepare pay slips, and manage employee data with confidentiality and precision.
  • Calculate, process, and reconcile wages, overtime, shift allowances, leave, and deductions.
  • Liaise with managers and employees regarding payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies swiftly and professionally.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant taxation, superannuation, and statutory obligations (including PAYG, Superannuation Guarantee, Single Touch Payroll and Workers Compensation payroll).
  • Assist with payroll reporting, audits, and end-of-year processes including payment summaries and reconciliations.
  • Collaborate with the HR and Accounts teams to support onboarding, offboarding, and employee records management.
  • Continually review payroll processes to identify improvements and support best practices within the business.

About You

We are seeking a highly organised and proactive individual who brings experience and enthusiasm to our payroll function.

  • Previous experience in a payroll processing or payroll administration role (minimum 2 years preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, and superannuation requirements.
  • Proficiency with payroll software (Microkeeper preferred) and intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to confidentiality and data security.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain payroll matters clearly and professionally.
  • Ability to prioritise tasks, work autonomously, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certificate IV in Payroll Administration, Bookkeeping, Accounting or similar qualification (desirable).
